JD came to the United States to pursue his American Dream. He came on his own, renting an apartment in Bellevue. After two decades’ of hard work, now JD has a beautiful wife, a 13-year-old son (who dreams of becoming a Seahawk), and 10-year-old daughter who is enjoying her last year in Somerset Elementary School. Becoming a council member to give back to Bellevue is JD’s new dream.
Having served as board member of the Somerset Community Association for 3 years, and as a member of the Covenants Review Committee, JD sees the importance of involving community. In 2016, JD was appointed to the Bellevue Diversity Advisory Network by Bellevue City Manager Brad Miyake. He also acts as Chinese Community Liaison for Overlake Medical Center and the president of Seattle Maple Drama Club.
Through this community service, JD has become actively involved in the issues concerning Bellevue, such as the multi-cultural center, the Energize Eastside project, homeless shelters, cannabis retailers and more.
As a point of background, JD started pursuing his M.S. in Electrical Engineering at State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998. Upon graduation he began his career as a System Engineer at Comverse Technology providing voicemail systems to mobile operators. In 2006, JD joined T-Mobile as System Architect where he is presently employed. JD got the Best Employee of T-Mobile award.
JD values family, education, and hard work. JD is not a professional politician, he represents the communities, and he can make the tough decisions in the best interests of our neighborhoods.
Being your next council member, JD wants to better serve Bellevue and contribute more to communities and neighborhoods. His priorities include:
- Neighborhood Safety
- 5G Smart City
- Inclusive Environment for Diversity
- Wise Use of Taxpayer Money
